What Is The Southern California KAPAP Association?

The Southern California KAPAP Association is headed up by Tad Nelson who has been associated with the KAPAP Academy since 2003. With over 18 years experience as a law enforcement and military professional assigned to a variety of specialized units, Tad is able to utilize his real world experience and incorporate it into his KAPAP training. In addition to heading up the Southern California KAPAP Association and KAPAP Boot Camp, Tad is also a graduate of the FBI’s Firearms Instructor Course and is a Range Safety Officer for KAPAP’s Tactical Handgun Course.

What Is The KAPAP Academy?

The KAPAP Academy was formed by two former Israeli Military and Israeli Police Counter terrorist combat Instructors – Avi Nardia and Albert Timen.

Avi Nardia served in a specialized Israeli Police unit as an intelligence team member and defensive tactics/CQB instructor. In 24 years of Reserve service to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) he earned the rank of Major. He has trained numerous Police agencies and Armed Forces units from all over the world, from patrol and corrections officers, to SWAT, SRT and SERT team members. In addition, he has also trained Army and Marine forces as well as Counter terrorist and Special Forces units. In Israel, he taught defensive tactics and operational behavior at the Operational Police Academy. He is the only official Israeli Instructor to have trained the Israeli Army, Israeli Police, and Israeli Counter terrorist units.

Albert Timen is a former Elite Counter Intelligence undercover unit member for the IDF, as well as a LOTAR and CQB instructor for various Police and SWAT schools. He is one of only a few individuals in the world to arrest a suicide bomber who still had an explosive belt strapped to his body while en route to kill innocent people. In his 18 years of operational experience, Albert has trained several specialized units in tactics and he has cross trained with some the best operational units in the world.

The KAPAP Academy serves as a “think tank” and a repository of knowledge and EXPERIENCE with respect to the next level in reality-based self defense. Today’s KAPAP is based on understanding and utilizing realistic scenarios that have emerged from real world experience in some of the worst and most threatening environments. Notably, KAPAP minimizes the need for either strength or power on the part of the KAPAP practitioner in order to protect themselves or their loved ones.

KAPAP Academy courses are designed for security companies, security departments, law enforcement agencies, and military or civilians interested in upgrading their knowledge and capabilities in this field.
